The HEARTH II program continues a long legacy at the Mission of addressing housing issues. The program is designed to help individuals and families who are homeless or in danger of being homeless to find or maintain stable housing. This can be done through help with security deposits, back rent and sometimes utilities.
As a program funded by a federal grant administered through New York State, rules and guidelines govern qualifications for the program, but at your Mission we do all we can to get people the help they need. To that end, this program has helped more than 700 individuals each year to find or keep stable housing.
If you need help with emergency housing, you can pick up a packet for the HEARTH program Monday through Friday at your Mission. The grant-governed process requires you to fill that out and go to the Department of Social Services for a homeless certification and denial of housing assistance before scheduling an appointment with the HEARTH program. In the Mission: Possible Capital Campaign, the HEARTH Office has been dedicated in memory of Wolodymir and Sofia Czerniha.
